On Wednesday 19th June, Lower Fifth RS students were visited by Dr Peter Vardy, who gave a truly fascinating and thought provoking talk about the new topics included in the GCSE Religious Studies syllabus. In particular, the students were able to explore ideas of deep ecology and how they relate to environmental ethics, discuss whether a war can ever be just, and debate arguments surrounding whether ethical judgements are relative or absolute. The students thoroughly enjoyed the day and it greatly enhanced their studies. Thank you to Dr Vardy for leading these discussions with our students.
