KEHS students are expected to dress appropriately and smartly whilst at school, travelling to and from school and on the games field.
Wearing the KEHS uniform with pride is part of a student’s commitment to the community and is a sign of respect for and loyalty to the school.
All garments and other property, including purses, stationery, watches and calculators, must be clearly named. Regular checks take place in school to ensure all items are labelled.
Any queries about school uniforms should be directed to the Assistant Head (Pastoral).
Lower School and Senior School
Blazer
Special KEHS blazer, to be worn travelling to and from school as well as during the school day. In particularly adverse weather conditions, girls may wear a coat of their choosing over the top of their blazer, e.g. a waterproof anorak. A puffer jacket with the school crest and a rain jacket with the school crest are available from our uniform suppliers; these are not compulsory.
Scarves
Any coloured scarf may be worn as outdoor clothing with the school blazer
Jumpers
KEHS green jumper in 3rd -U4th years (Year 7-9).
L5th and U5th (Year 10 & 11) wear the black KEHS jumper.
Skirts
A choice of two styles of skirt. These should be knee length and should not be rolled up. Only regulation skirts bearing the white Tudor rose emblem may be worn.
Trousers
Only black, regulation trousers bearing the white Tudor rose emblem may be worn.
Blouses
Any white revere (open neck) blouse or green KEHS (Trutex brand) open neck blouse, long or short sleeved. No t-shirt should be visible at the neck.
Please note that school blouses must be open-neck / revere-collar style. This means they should have a flat, open collar and should not button up to the neck like a shirt. Traditional buttoned school shirts with a top button are not permitted.
Footwear
Shoes or ankle boots should be formal, black, and polishable (made from leather or imitation leather, but not patent). Canvas pumps, Converse style trainers and sports trainers must not be worn. If there are extenuating medical circumstances requiring specialist footwear, please supply a signed note from a parent/ carer.
Socks/tights
Black socks, ankle or knee length, or black tights. Either tights or socks should be worn.
PE Kit
KEHS is introducing a new PE kit. Legacy PE kit may continue to be worn until the end of the transition period. From September 2028, the new PE kit will be compulsory for all pupils.

The following items are recommended but not compulsory:
- a pair of multi-purpose all-weather shoes with grip suitable for use on Astroturf
- a school black skin base layer that can be worn in cold weather
- a gum shield for hockey
- Embroidered initials on PE kit are optional
Wearing PE kit at KEHS
- Pupils may arrive at school in PE kit if they have PE in periods 1, 2 or 3. They should change into school uniform after the lesson unless they are attending a lunchtime PE club.
- If PE takes place in periods 4 or 5, pupils should arrive in school uniform and change for the lesson.
- After a lunchtime PE club, pupils may remain in PE kit
- Pupils may travel home in PE kit.
Hair
Hair adornments should be simple and in either green, white or black.
Jewellery
Girls are not allowed to wear any jewellery to school other than one small stud earring in each earlobe. Each stud should measure no more than 0.5 cm and be of either plain gold or silver colour. No hoop earrings or other piercings are allowed, including nose studs. Any items of jewellery which do not meet these criteria will be confiscated and held securely at Reception ready for collection by a parent.
Make-up and nail varnish
Make-up is not considered necessary with school uniform but if it is worn it should be of a discreet nature. Girls will be asked to remove unsuitable make-up. Coloured or gel nail varnish may not be worn.
Lanyards and badges
Lanyards must be KEHS branded (these will be issued to pupils when they join the school).
Only school issued badges may be worn in school and on school trips.
Optional
White lab coats are worn for some science lessons. These can be borrowed from school or girls can bring their own.

Lanyards to be worn and visible at ALL times
Discrete logos on items of clothing are permissible
Any jewellery – remove for PE or for science/ DT experiments
Items that are not permissible to be worn include:
No strappy tops, off the shoulder garments, sweatshirts, hoodies, jeans, jogging bottoms, leggings, shorts, frayed or ripped clothing, cropped tops, denim, sportswear (except when permission has been granted), flip flops, crocs or high heeled shoes
