Our extensive programme of trips provides another world of activity and adventure for our pupils.

With over 100 trips taking place each year, ranging from small-scale trips within the UK to destinations further afield, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Trips offer pupils unique opportunities to develop their resourcefulness and initiative while spending time together in a more relaxed environment. They enrich different subjects across the curriculum. Each trip is different, with some directly linked to the curriculum, while others are designed to boost social awareness, enhance physical skills, self-reliance, and teamwork, or extend girls’ knowledge and appreciation of the world. All trips contribute to the pupils’ development and education.

Subject trips

A range of trips are provided across the curriculum to enrich the learning done in the classroom. These include visits to historic sites, museums, galleries, natural features, government settings, places of worship and lectures. Further afield trips have included Iceland, Normandy, Madrid, Belgium and Paris.

Outdoor activities

We also offer ski trips, and our Head of Outdoor Pursuits co-ordinates regular weekend activities for pupils, such as sailing and hill walking. Our Year 7s enjoy a three-day residential trip to Manor Adventure in Shropshire; Year 8 go to the Cotswolds and Year 9 visit the Lake District. Find out more about our Outdoor Pursuits.

Sports tours

At least one of our sports goes on tour abroad every three years to give our keen and talented players life-changing experiences in countries including South Africa, Mexico, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Fiji.

Language exchanges

Pupils in Year 9 and above also have the opportunity to take part in language and cultural exchanges, staying with host families, whose children make reciprocal visits, living with KEHS families.
