Welcome from the Principal

At King Edward VI High School for Girls, we have long valued intellectual liveliness and cultural excellence.

“Our highly-qualified teachers look to inspire each girl’s imagination and enable her to discover and develop her academic passions and ambitions, alongside outstanding opportunities in music, sport, the arts and many more spheres: our rich and highly prized co-curricular programme is very much at the heart of the school. We’re delighted that the Sunday Times has consistently rated us number one among West Midlands Independent Schools for our outstanding education.

We offer so much more than stellar grades and rigorous preparation for places at world class universities. We value each girl and help her navigate wisely the choices ahead of her at each stage, giving her the opportunities to develop her leadership and collaborative skills as well as her resilience, so that she is ready in due course to make the difference our wonderful alumnae have made over the years, on a national and global stage.

KEHS is a caring and generous community, where relationships between girls and our staff are very warm. The girls are encouraged to develop a strong spirit of philanthropy, and to engage with the world outside of school. Our generous assisted places scheme enables us to offer the full breadth of our education to talented girls whatever their background.

An education at KEHS is without question an outstanding education for life, providing opportunities that few can match. You are very welcome to visit our distinctive school and meet our impressive girls and staff. I look forward to meeting you!”
