Holi 2024

On the 21st of June, the KES/KEHS Hindu forum organised and hosted a Holi event at Eastern Road.

Holi is a Hindu festival that not only celebrates love and new life but also equality, diversity and inclusion.  It’s a colourful festival, with dancing, singing and the throwing of powder paint and coloured water and is therefore known as the “festival of colours”.  The reason behind why we throw these colours is because when everyone is covered in the powder there can be no discrimination of your race, colour or gender, everyone is equal. Holi is also a time for fun, enjoyment and happiness with your friends and family and our event perfectly displayed that.

Over 50 students and teachers of both KES and KEHS came to the event, and they were met with delicious samosas, spring rolls, drinks and music.  After chatting and eating it was time for the fun to start.  As the colour throwing began colours, laughter and joy filled the air. Bringing this event all the way from the streets of India to KES/KEHS for people of all cultures, ethnicities and beliefs to enjoy.
