Congratulations to 3K who have raised over £400 for the Whales and Dolphins Conservation charity through collections and a sponsored silence. The class recently investigated the challenges facing whales and dolphins and they decided to take collective action to help however they could. Taking part in a campaign movement led by the magazine Splash! the students coloured in pictures of Māui dolphins, a species that lives off the New Zealand coast and is on the verge of extinction, and sent them to the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern. The students were honoured to receive a letter of thanks from Ms Ardern who has recently announced her plans to end all new offshore gas exploration in order to protect the Māui dolphins.
