During February half term, the Spanish Department embarked upon another adventure, taking nine sixth formers to Madrid for the weekend, accompanied by the enthusiastic Senora Atkins and Senora Soldevilla! Spanish students relished this opportunity to practise their language skills in numerous different situations, from ordering food and interacting with the locals to translating clues in a rather competitive ‘escape room’ experience. In addition, students were able to immerse themselves in the culture by visiting Madrid’s flea market “el Rastro”, exploring artwork in “Museo del Prado” and experimenting with typical food from the region, such as paella. Overall the trip was a great success and immense fun for everyone. Thank you to the Spanish Department for organising such a culturally enriching visit.
