On 2nd December, the election debate featuring our KEHS Mock Election candidates took place, organised and hosted by The Open Platform Society. With Nikita representing the Conservative Party, Harriet representing Labour, Sofia David representing the Green, Alice stepping up for the Lib Dems and Cathy for the Brexit Party, sparks flew as they were bombarded with questions from the floor. Nikita spoke eloquently on the Conservative Party’s nuclear weapons’ policy, whilst Alice tackled allegations of disparity between her party’s policies and voting history. Cathy and Sofia entered a heated one-on-one debate over the distribution of false information, and Harriet discussed Labour’s policies on climate change control astutely. All in all, it was a dynamic debate reflecting a wealth of political knowledge. Congratulations to the candidates. Don’t forget to vote for them on Monday 9th December.
