After A-level exams in June, Sasha, Kirsten and Sarah travelled to Vancouver in Canada on a week-long trip, which was subsidised by the Haywood Travel Award. They spent the majority of the time on Salt Spring Island off the coast of the mainland with Kirsten’s family friend. They had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the island’s culture and explore its main attractions: the vibrant Saturday market in its largest town, the Ganges as well as a goats cheese farm. The beautiful Canadian summer weather meant they could to hike to Reginald Hill and take in the magnificent views of neighbouring islands. In the evenings, they paddle boarded and kayaked from the beach and spotted jellyfish and starfish in the clear waters. This was certainly an unforgettable experience.
