On Tuesday 24th November, KEHS became the Tune Up Arts Academy. Our roll call expanded to an amazing 110,000 students from over 430 schools from as far afield as Canada and Singapore. This KEHS based initiative brought schools together to celebrate the arts and their impact on youth mental health and wellbeing. Multi-award winning musical director Alex Lacamoire, comedian Greg Davies, Dame Darcey Bussell, playwright and screenwriter James Graham and Dame Evelyn Glennie were among scores of leading arts professionals who took part in this ground-breaking virtual arts school for young people. We were also supported by several of our Old Eds who work in the world of arts. In the afternoon the Lower School watched an exclusive production from the full masked theatre company ‘Vamos’, and the Upper School watched ‘Emilia’, which was produced by Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. We’re so proud of the team of staff and girls who worked incredibly hard to pull off this event, and we look forward to what the future holds for #TuneUp.
