On Monday 16th December, the Senior Swing Band visited four primary schools, in Small Heath and Rednal, to give ‘Christmassy’ concerts to primary school children in their final week of term. Many of the children had never experienced live music of this kind before, so it was a real treat for them, and the band did a great job, performing professionally each time, despite having to repeat the same programme four times in the same day – not an easy task! It was also a great opportunity for some of the pupils to learn about instruments that they don’t normally come across, and hear them in action. Well done to all the band members, and our two vocalists Sanjana and Priyanka, for being an inspiration to many young children who may, as a result, decide to start learning a musical instrument.
