Jessie opened last week’s Performers’ Platform on Tuesday 9th October with a stirring rendition of the first movement of Beethoven’s Sonata in F minor op. 2 no. 1, playing with crisp articulation and clearly contrasting themes. Scarlett followed with poised performances of Schubert’s An Die Musik and Purcell’s Music for a while, before Naina captured the audience with an impassioned interpretation of Vaughan Williams’ Romance. Sanjana Sudeshkumar sang with a beautiful, sweet tone in her performances of Schumann’s Widmung and Mozart’s ‘In Uomini’ from Cosí fan tutte before Cathy closed the programme with her sensitive playing of the Nocturne in B♭ minor op. 9 no.1 by Chopin.
