Jasmine Gardosi, A Poet Laureate

Old Edwardian and Birmingham Poet Laureate 2022-24, Jasmine Gardosi recently visited the school to give a mesmerising performance of her poem 'A Poet Laureate'. The poem was written to mark the 140th anniversary of our school.

In a poignant tribute to our school’s history, former student and Birmingham Poet Laureate (2022 – 2024); Jasmine Gardosi has immortalised the essence of KEHS in her powerful poem A Poet Laureate.

Jasmine currently runs the weekly Spoken Word club at KEHS, and the performance reflects not only her personal connection to the school, but also touches on themes such as our Assisted Places scheme.

As we reflect on 140 years of academic excellence, A Poet Laureate becomes a symbolic bridge between our past and future. It is a celebration of the values that define our school, and the lasting impact it has on the students that have graced the corridors.
