On Thursday 9th January, students in the Lower Fifth were treated to an excellent lecture by Professor Scott Lucas from the University of Birmingham. An expert on US and global politics, Professor Lucas discussed a range of highly relevant topics, from the inner workings of the Trump White House through to recent events in Iran and the power of social media in contemporary elections. A seasoned journalist, and political activist, Professor Lucas divides his time between academia and working for a range of news outlets, including the BBC and CNN, alongside his own online newspaper platform: EA WorldView.
