On Thursday 15th November, the Lower Fifth were involved in a Spoken Word workshop run by professional poet, and Old Edwardian, Jasmine Gardosi. Working in groups, the students actively engaged with a variety of important issues, ranging from gender equality to personal development and produced a number of thoughtful pieces of work. The girls also greatly enjoyed a performance by Upper Fifth student Aliyah Begum, Birmingham’s Young Poet Laureate.

Looking ahead, the third instalment of the new Lower Fifth Enrichment Lecture Series will take place on Thursday 6th December, featuring Professor Robert Elliot from the University of Birmingham talking about the role of China in the global economy.
