Barber concert at the Elgar Concert Hall

On Friday 18 November, we hosted our annual Lunchtime Recital held in the Elgar
Concert Hall at the University of Birmingham, as part of their Barber Concert series.
This concert celebrated some of our accomplished musicians from both KEHS and KES.
The concert began with a mixed piano quintet, featuring Jennifer (violin) and
Rebecca (piano) from KEHS. The quintet gave an outstanding and elegant
performance of Frank Bridge’s Piano Quintet in D Minor, H.49. This was followed by a
vocal performance, with string quartet, of Barber’s ‘Dover Beach’, which featured
Emmy for KEHS on the violin. All students gave a touching performance of the
piece. To bring the concert to a close, a mixed sextet, comprising of a wind quintet and
piano, performed the first movement, Allegro vivace, from Poulenc’s Sextour, Fp.100.
From KEHS, Jiajie (flute), Shalu (oboe), and Rosie (clarinet) all
played wonderfully in this ensemble. The audience seemed to thoroughly enjoy the
event and each performance was met by rapturous applause. All pupils were fantastic
ambassadors for KEHS and should be very proud of their outstanding achievements.

Guitar Instrumental Evening

On Monday 28 November, many of our pupils performed in the Guitar Instrumental
Evening in Ruddock Hall which was a huge success. Well done to Alexandra,
Anthea, Sundeep, Vybhavi, Zhenshi, Nithika,
Sophia and Samara.

The great Easter Debate: a sweet, chaotic showdown

If you were expecting a serious, well-structured debate at this year’s Easter debate, you were in for a surprise. What unfolded was less of a formal argument and more of a theatrical masterpiece – complete with flying chocolate, wild accusations and a speaker who somehow turned it into a human rights campaign for sugar.

Culture Week

Culture Week wasn’t just a week, it was a reflection of who we are as a school. It was a reminder that diversity isn’t just something we talk about at KEHS. It’s something we embrace.
