On Tuesday 24th September, the Upper Fifth attended a set of careers talks. They were offered the chance to hear from three women, all eminent in their fields. Hannah Whitehouse (OE 1997) is a Detective Inspector in West Midlands Police, specialising in leading homicide investigations in Birmingham. She spoke about her career and the various roles available in the force. Judy Dyke MBE (OE 1972) is the Director of Tyndallwoods Solicitors and Head of the Private Client Department. As well as a successful career in private client law, Judy is also extensively involved with local trusts and charities, and highlighted the value of philanthropy. Rehana Watkinson works as PMO Manager for Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership. She talked girls through her journey from school in Sri Lanka to working in the public and private sector, including the challenges of reading Law at Cambridge University to working in the Civil Service and presenting White Papers to Gordon Brown! Thank you to all our speakers for taking the time to visit the School and provide students with their words of wisdom.
