On Wednesday 11th March, we hosted over 70 pupils from local primary schools for our annual creative writing workshop. The pupils were able to hear about story writing from established playwright, Mike Carter. They spent time talking about their favourite authors and were very impressed to hear that Mike had even met Roald Dahl. The pupils explored techniques for developing their ideas. They focused on writing from personal experience and how to draw on different emotions as well as discussing trigger points within a story. Every pupil was involved in writing their own story and several had the chance to perform readings of their stories. Thank you to the Sixth Form students who helped out with the session.
