Senior Production – The Great Gatsby

This year's Senior Production was an original retelling of The Great Gatsby written by our very own Ms Proops and Mr Edwards!

I was offered the new role of Student Director and I believe that this experience has helped inform me of what a future in the arts will be like making this experience invaluable to me. Despite the long hours dedicated by everyone, spirits never fell and as rehearsals continued it was a joy to be able to see such a complex concept come to life and all the actors getting into their roles. The community built behind the wings was also an extremely close one this year, despite the large cast (boasting over 90 when backstage are included). The Great Gatsby was an honour to be a part of, from the ensembles and main cast to immersive and stage crew to stage managers and student creatives, it was amazing to be surrounded by such a talented group of people. This really has set a new standard for our school productions that I’m looking forward to seeing exceeded next year!
