On Thursday 27th June, Professor Bob Bowie from Canterbury Christ Church University visited Lower Sixth Religious Studies students and spoke about his work writing the text books used for Religious Studies A Level. The students were also treated to a talk connected to Liberation Theology and the work of Dietrich Bonehoeffer. Time was spent discussing how, for those immersed in Liberation Theology, salvation is believed to occur on earth and the impact this has for poor and marginalised groups. Students had requested a talk on this subject and found the discussion to be very helpful to their studies. The Religious Studies Department would like to thank Professor Bowie for taking time out of his busy schedule to speak to the students and to help them flourish in their studies.
