Born during the Second World War, Mr Winterstein spoke at length about the events which led to the horrors of the ‘Final Solution’ and about his early childhood in Nazi-occupied eastern Europe. Mr Winterstein also spoke of the importance of toleration and respect for human values in today’s world and of the need to learn the lessons of the past. This was a deeply moving and humbling experience for all concerned.
