On Tuesday 12th February, Emma Cole delivered an extremely inspiring and thought-provoking talk to the Lower Sixth about HIV. Emma, who has lived with HIV for the past 28 years of her life, talked very openly about how she contracted HIV, but also about the struggles of living with the virus. As well as sharing a more personal story about HIV, Emma put great emphasis on positive mental attitude, openness and education when it came to sexually transmitted diseases and illnesses, and her personal anecdotes not only gave the students a few laughs, but were also profoundly moving. All the students greatly enjoyed the talk; many thanks to Emma for sharing her story and to Mr Jarvis for organising the talk.
