On Wednesday 23rd January, Professor Ganna Pogrebna from the University of Birmingham gave a talk to the Upper Sixth about women and leadership. Sharing her work as a professor of behavioural economics and data science, Professor Pogrebna facilitated a discussion about the qualities which make a good leader and the possibility of gender differences in leadership styles. Through her work, Professor Pogrebna has questioned why there are so few women in leadership roles in the Formula One industry and CEO positions across global companies. The students were able to consider the possible reasons for the lack of women in these positions as well as how they might build upon their skills in order to improve their leadership abilities for future careers. Thank you to Professor Pogrebna for speaking to our students about her research.
