On Thursday 5th December, Aliyah, in her role as Birmingham’s Young Poet Laureate, was invited to perform one of her poems and discuss her work on BBC Radio West Midlands. Aliyah’s poem was entitled Matinée in the operating theatre, which you can read on the English Department Blog. Aliyah’s radio slot was so successful that the producers are planning to invite her back and share more of her work with their listeners.
