Choral and Orchestral concerts

Both evenings were a testament to the hard work and commitment of our pupils and staff. Their performances reflected both their individual talent and the collective effort that went into preparing for these concerts. They should all be immensely proud.

This past weekend, our pupils demonstrated remarkable talent and dedication in two outstanding Choral and Orchestral concerts.

On Sunday evening, Choral Society performed Duruflé’s Requiem, accompanied by musicians from Symphony Orchestra. It was an expressive display, capturing the work’s moments of solemnity and beauty. The Symphony Orchestra then took on the immense challenge of Mahler’s Symphony No.9, a demanding and deeply moving work, delivering a performance of great intensity and skill.

Monday’s concert began with a powerful performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No.2 in C minor from Rebecca. For a school pupil to perform such a technically and musically demanding work is absolutely astounding. Her commanding presence and musicality made for a truly compelling rendition which was accompanied diligently by the Symphony Orchestra. A second performance of Mahler’s Ninth was given to bring the concerts to a spectacular finale.
