On Thursday 17th January, the Thirds visited the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon to watch a production of A Christmas Carol. The performance, which was a unique adaptation of the festive classic, included moments of humour and hope, as well as darkness surrounding Scrooge’s journey to developing a more compassionate nature. The students found the production entertaining and their new understanding of the plot, characters’ motivations and the author’s intentions will be useful in their current English projects. The show was also inspiring for teachers and the unique inclusion of Dickens in the play prompted Mrs Waites to think even more creatively about next year’s junior production!
