On Wednesday 23rd January, four pairs of debaters competed in the first round of the prestigious Oxford Schools Debating Competition. All pairs opened their first debate, arguing in support of the motion, ‘This House would require 50% of MPs to be women’. Osha and Shivanii were praised for their selection of points and examples. In their second debate, Satpreet and Amrita argued for the motion, ‘This House would legalise euthanasia’, the judge commenting on their thorough knowledge of the required roles. Returning pair Nikita and Tvisha, and novice debaters Maimuna and Iqra, also spoke well and confidently.

Lara delivers fascinating talk at TEDxTamworth
During the Easter holidays, Lower Sixth pupil Lara was selected to speak at TEDxTamworth, where she stepped onto the stage alongside 11 adult speakers to deliver a talk on ‘Why The AI Age Belongs to the Teen Generalist’.
