On Thursday 7th February, internationally acclaimed still life artist, Kate Brinkworth, visited school to run a day long workshop for Sixth Form Art students on using oil paint. Kate has worked with the likes of Coca Cola and Supreme; her work is known for its use of vibrant colour and photo realistic technique. She guided the students in creating loose, expressive initial responses to still life objects. The techniques they picked up will be useful for informing their coursework and examination pieces. Meeting and learning from a professional artist has inspired our students to consider possible future pathways for themselves within the arts. We hope to welcome Kate back in the future as the day was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
