For this year’s Harry Potter Book Night on Thursday 7th February, there were thousands of parties and celebrations held all over the world, and KEHS was pleased to host one of them! The sixth Harry Potter Book Night, celebrated at KEHS for the fourth year running, was once more enthusiastically supported by girls across the school. This year’s theme was ‘The Tri-Wizard Tournament’. The week leading up to the event had girls from every year coming into the Library to be sorted into their Hogwarts House by the Sorting Hat, scouring the school for items on the Hogwarts Scavenger Hunt and taking on the many challenges and activities available, from crafting dragons, hunting for Nifflers to simply colouring in pictures of Diagon Alley! The main event, the Super Fan Quiz, saw the Junior Library decorated with House banners, potions, glowing goblets of fire, as well as being full with contestants from almost every year group. All the participants were taxed with five gruelling rounds of Harry Potter trivia about everything from listing the names of the other wizarding schools to solving the riddle of the Sphinx! Ektaa was the first runner up winning a Golden Snitch replica. In third place, was Maya who won a Time Turner. Second place was awarded to Saraswathi, who went home with a Slytherin Top Trumps travel case and finally the winner of the quiz was Amelia, who gained an impressive 35 ½ points, which meant she won the main prize of her own Tri-Wizard Cup! A truly magical time was had by all! Click on our Flickr gallery to see more pictures of the super fan quiz.

From the very first day to the last, we found ourselves entirely submerged in both modern and ancient Greek culture, from participating in a couple of chaotic dances to being taught (and quizzed) on different objects we hunted for in the museums.

The great Easter Debate: a sweet, chaotic showdown

If you were expecting a serious, well-structured debate at this year’s Easter debate, you were in for a surprise. What unfolded was less of a formal argument and more of a theatrical masterpiece – complete with flying chocolate, wild accusations and a speaker who somehow turned it into a human rights campaign for sugar.

Culture Week

Culture Week wasn’t just a week, it was a reflection of who we are as a school. It was a reminder that diversity isn’t just something we talk about at KEHS. It’s something we embrace.
