Six KEHS girls represented South Birmingham at the West Midlands Cross Country Trial race in October, and following some impressive performances, four of them have been selected to represent the West Midlands in the Inter-Counties race next month. In the Minor Girls’ race, Amira was an accomplished second, followed by Hannah in 40th and Laila in 53rd. This was a sterling performance from our Thirds. In the Inter Girls’ Race, Anisa was a credible 16th, securing selection for the next round. In the Senior Girls’ race, Tess fought hard for second place with Salihah in 20th place also doing enough to be selected to represent the West Midlands next month. These results are a great achievement for our girls; they all learnt a great deal about determination, perseverance and cross country racing tactics. The Inter-Counties race is the one of the highlights of the British cross country racing calendar for many young athletes and it is fantastic that four of our girls have qualified.

Culture Week

Culture Week wasn’t just a week, it was a reflection of who we are as a school. It was a reminder that diversity isn’t just something we talk about at KEHS. It’s something we embrace.
