During PDM lessons this term, the Lower Fourth have been undertaking a Democracy and Decision Making Project and have worked in teams to create a presentation about an idea that would improve the school. They then researched their idea and compiled a short presentation explaining the idea along with a script. The students then presented their ideas to the rest of their class who helped select the finalists. Ideas that reached the finals included waffles at breakfast, online homework planners, recycling bins, a games room, swimming pool changing rooms makeover, healthy vending machines, tuck shop food and floodlights for the netball courts. The finalists went on to present to the rest of the year group and a panel of judges that included Cllr Alden, Mrs Butterworth, Mr Terry and Mrs Clark. They had to answer questions posed by the judging panel and the rest of the year and at the end, the votes were collected. The winner is to be announced before the end of term, so watch this space!
