On Thursday 27th February, the KEHS swimming team, comprising of Imogen, Ruby, Abigail, Audrey, Neave, Skye, Emily and Maisie, competed against KE Five Ways, KE Camp Hill and KE Handsworth in the annual Minchin Cup swimming competition. There were many individual successes during the event, including wins for Ruby and Neave in the individual breaststroke, as well as for Imogen and Abigail in their respective butterfly heats. Our team were also victorious in the team medley relay. Congratulations to all the swimmers on a fantastic performance, which resulted in KEHS winning the overall competition.

This was a remarkable opportunity to learn about the story of the 6888 Central Postal Directory Battalion – an all-female, predominantly African-American unit stationed at King Edward’s School during the Second World War.
