The first seminar lunch of the new academic year took place on Thursday 19th September, with three students in the Upper Sixth presenting papers on a range of topics. Tabassum opened the event, speaking with great clarity about the complex physics of Antimatter. Two Classics papers followed: Tara provided an enlightening discussion of the significance of the Parthenon in shaping Athenian geopolitics, whilst Renee concluded the lunch with a thoughtful and nuanced evaluation of Horatian satire. All three also fielded a range of challenging questions from the audience which included special guest John Claughton (former Chief Master of KES). The next instalment of the lunch programme will take place on Tuesday 8 October.
