On Tuesday lunchtime, Jayamala and Rhea, from the Upper Sixth, gave talks on some academic research which they have undertaken. Jayamala spoke about cytomegalovirus and its effects on the donors and recipients of renal transplants, as well as cardiac complications. Rhea gave a talk on Functionalism Materialism and its relevance to mind-body problems. She also provided an overview of the future of functionalism in the philosophy of the mind.
