Just before the Summer holidays, girls in the Lower School were asked to enter an Art competition in which they were asked to respond to the question ‘What makes me happy?’. Holly in the Upper Fourth won with this beautiful painting, and Meher in the Lower Fourth was a very close runner up. Art teacher Mrs Howes commented that this was an impressive painting which everybody could empathise with over lockdown. Both artists have won materials to contribute to their artwork outside of school and Holly received a winner’s certificate from the Principal.

“For this painting, I have chosen to depict an image of tea alongside a meal with music being played, as enjoying a warm cup of tea together with some of my favourite music of any genre is enough to make me feel at ease. Sitting down and feeling heat from a mug really brings a feeling of unmatched serenity for me and I tried my best to portray this for the competition.”
